The city’s second Hoxton hotel is also set to open this spring, transforming the “iconic” SLEEPER MAGAZINE Lloyd Hotel building, and the upscale Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky brings with it “a Michelin-starred restaurant and soothing spa” ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST.

Pillows Maurits at the Park
NEW HOTEL | Open November 2022Amsterdam’s “chicest new hotel” THE TIMES has just “popped up in the coolest part of Amsterdam” THE TIMES. Maurits at the Park is the latest opening from Pillows Hotels, a new boutique company that’s already built a reputation for its sophisticated hotels and restaurants across the Netherlands and Belgium. Each of the hotels is located in a listed building, and this new Dutch edition is no different, set within a historic 20th-century university building “on the edge of Amsterdam’s leafy, vibrant Oosterpark” CONDE NAST TRAVELLER. The location gives guests “the best of both worlds” RED MAGAZINE with both “the bustle of the city centre and the greenery of Oosterpark” RED MAGAZINE. There’s also “a stellar line-up of in-house restaurants” SUITCASE with a casual eatery as well as a fine dining experience plus a spa offering a menu of quick treatments along with a sauna and fitness room.
The Hoxton Amsterdam Lloyd
NEW HOTEL | Opens spring 2023Following the “oh so Instagrammable” ELLE NETHERLANDS Hoxton Amsterdam that opened back in 2015, the brand is opening a second location in the city, transforming the “iconic” SLEEPER MAGAZINE Lloyd Hotel into a contemporary, design-led property. Originally built in the 1920s as a hostel for migrants before then being used as a prison, Lloyd Hotel is a landmark with a storied history and has become “popular with artists and performers” THE TELEGRAPH thanks to its “Who’s Who of Dutch design” THE TELEGRAPH interiors. The new Hoxton opening will “breathe fresh life into the building, embracing and elevating its original and listed architectural details” SLEEPER. The brand’s synonymous lobby space will, of course, be found within the hotel along with a restaurant and a large outdoor terrace.
Ruby Emma Hotel
NEW HOTEL | Opened October 2022The trendy Ruby Hotels group arrived in The Netherlands at the end of last year with the opening of the Ruby Emma Hotel. The new opening has been “specifically designed for digital nomads” GLOBE TRENDER with its dedicated Ruby Luuk coworking space incorporated within the hotel - a first for the brand. The space is “spread over three floors with 138 workstations and an extensive meeting room” ENTREE and, like the rest of the hotel, follows the brand’s ‘lean luxury’ philosophy, providing everything you’d need and want with no unnecessary extras. As a result, you can expect “chic rooms at sharp prices” THE TIMES. There’s also a strong stance on sustainability with green energy used throughout the property.
TRIBE Amsterdam City
NEW HOTEL | Opened May 2022Created with the intention of providing a new type of hotel experience, TRIBE Amsterdam City is “a luxurious alternative for modern travellers” FALSTAFF. “Anchored by an all-day social hub” HOSPITALITY DESIGNS that evolves from a coffee shop and meeting space during the day to a cocktail bar by night, the hotel is “intended to be a meeting place for people from all over the world” FALSTAFF and invites guests to work, eat, drink, relax and socialise. Located in the newly developed area on Gare du Nord in Amsterdam-North, guests can reach the city centre in just eight minutes thanks to the neighbouring metro station Noord.
